The blackboard can be used in various ways based on the way that the trainer is set up and what muscles are trying to be focused on, to both mobilize and strengthen the foot and ankle.

Blackboard Trainer

How to perform:

Blackboard Trainer

The Blackboard trainer is a great tool for anybody to use. Most people will say that they have never exercised their feet at all. Though most forms of exercise are done upright on the feet, that is not enough for training the full function of the foot. The Blackboard trainer is specifically designed for the purpose of training the functions of the forefoot to the heel that also involve the ankle and calf muscles. The different motions can mobilize the foot and loosen it up when done loosely in a large ROM, or they can strengthen the foot, when trying to be stable while balancing on one foot. There are numerous functions that the Blackboard utilizes but all of the movements should be done with a controlled intention to help build the correct feelings of what is actually being worked.

Protocol:

Complete 1x performing 60 seconds of each of the different movements
