Indian Club Rotation

The Indian club rotation involves using an Indian club to train the stability of the wrist. Hold the Indian club with your arm bent at the side or fully extended in front of the body. From there pronate and supinate the forearm until horizontal of each way. The rotation should not come from the shoulder.

How to perform:

Indian Club Rotation

The Indian Club is a specific device for certain exercises. An Indian club is a weighted piece of equipment that can range from 1lb to 10+lbs that looks like a bowling pin with weight majorly on one side of the equipment.

There are a variety of things that can be done with the club. The movements that are focused on in the office are supination and pronation of the forearm. Holding the indian club at the bottom (lighter end) with the pinky wrapped around the ball. Start with the weight straight up in the air. The easier method is having the arm bent and more advanced is to perform with a straight arm. The wrist should be in a sturdy position, think punching fist and maintain that throughout the movement. The first part is to supinate the forearm or turn the palm facing up and the indian club is horizontal. Then switching the muscles and going back to the start and pronating the forearm by having the palm face down until horizontal that way. During these movements make sure to control the wrist and the speed at which the indian club is going at.

Protocol:

Complete 2-3x per arm performing rotations for 60 seconds
